$200+ Million Entertainment District Rocks Downtown St. Louis
St. Louis -- September 20, 2004 --
The city known for its sports teams will soon draw visitors with something besides the Gateway Arch. The Bottle District, a
new $200+ million, 15-acre entertainment destination in the heart of downtown will offer visitors a reason to stay a little
longer in St. Louis. The Bottle District offers a one-of-a-kind experience, with best-in-class offerings that include:
- Cabo Wabo Cantina – It’s not only the nightclub that Sammy Hagar made famous, but also the restaurant that
has received rave
reviews for its diverse menu, eclectic atmosphere and exceptional service. The cantina, which inspired the award-winning Cabo
Wabo Tequila, will occupy 7,500 square feet in The Bottle District. This is the third location. The other two Cabo Wabo
Cantinas are located in Cabo San Lucas and Lake Tahoe.
- Premier Concert Venue – This soon-to-be named 20,000 square foot venue is designed to offer concertgoers an intimate
experience, while providing state-of-the-art technology to attract the top bands in the business.
- Bowling Alley – Would you like a martini while you bowl? This hip spin on the classic bowling alley will feature 12 lanes,
an
excellent drink menu and ambiance to spare.
- F1 St. Louis – This unique indoor Formula 1 kart racing facility is designed for those with a need for speed. It’s the
real
thing – a genuine racing experience on two indoor tracks in vehicles perfectly scaled for performance and fun. F1 caters to
businesses and individuals with 120,000 square feet of racing, exhibition and conference facilities, a full-service
restaurant, classic billiard parlor and more.
- Rawlings All American Grille – If anyone knows how to build heaven on earth for sports fans, it’s Rawlings. The Rawlings
All
American Grille features 15,000 square feet of interactive sports attractions, shopping, memorabilia and more. The restaurant
and bar side will feature a main dining room with two-story media walls, plus a flat-screen TV at every table.
- Corporate Event and Meeting Space – booking now – For companies in the market for something truly different, The Bottle
District is the place to be for corporate meetings, team building events and more. F1 St. Louis is reserving space now. The
latest information is available at www.thebottledistrict.com.
- Premier Retail Space– leasing now – Businesses searching for a location unlike any other in St. Louis need to be part of
The
Bottle District. This street-level retail space is located by highly-visible anchor tenants, as well as an impressive
residential component. 40,000 square feet is available now.
"People come to downtown St. Louis to see the Arch, to catch a ballgame, to attend a convention. People will want to stay here
after they experience The Bottle District,” said Dan McGuire, CEO of BDP, LLC. “These are one-of-a-kind places in a
one-of-a-kind venue. There’s nothing else like it.”
Irish immigrants settled in this area of St. Louis and named it the Kerry Patch around 1845. Developers have already unearthed
antique bottles from that era. Those, along with a 25 foot historic Vess Soda Bottle on the property, played a part in naming
the district.
Designed by Lighthouse Architects, The Bottle District offers a unique pedestrian environment, with intimate courtyards, wide
sidewalks and an entire street reserved for walking. And since it is in the heart of the city, just north of the Edward Jones
Dome, visitors are treated to stunning views of the surrounding architecture.
The project will be built by Clayco Construction, with groundbreaking slated for fall of 2004. The first three blocks in The
Bottle District will open in the spring/summer of 2006. The remaining four blocks will be completed by 2008. When complete,
the entire district will include:
- 500,000 square feet of entertainment venues
- 175,000 square feet of dining
- 45,000 square feet of premium office space
- More than 200 new residential units, with 60 loft units
Ample underground parking
