STLCity.com Website Updates
September 28, 2005 :: XML RSS feeds add to several site links for fast updates
Look for the
button to indicate websites that offer
RSS news feeds. Some sites offer a single news feed while others offer feeds for each section of their site. You read these
feeds in a program called an aggregator or news reader. These programs collect news from the various sources you have
subscribed to and then delivers it to you in a simple form.
November 09, 2004 :: Online advertising space available in each link category.
Each category (i.e., news, business, sports,
entertainment, etc.) currently has space on the right hand side of each page for "Ads by Google".
We are currently moving to replace these with ads by local businesses. If you would like more information on how to promote
your company through STLCity.com, please take a look at our online ad specifications and then
contact us for current rates.
April 06, 2004 :: New subscription links added to several periodicals and newspapers.
In association with Amazon.com, we have added "subscription" links to several periodicals and newspapers found
within the STLCity.com website. You can now subscribe to the St. Louis Business Journal, St. Louis Small Business Monthly,
St. Louis Commerce Magazine, St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles, St. Louis Magazine and more!
September 09, 2003 :: New sections added to the STLCity.com website.
The "St. Louis Web Hosting Directory and IT
Resource Guide" and the "St. Louis City Online Classifieds"
have been added to the STLCity.com website.
June 17, 2002 :: Making it easier for you to find us and recommend us to your friends!
After using several versions of free web site addresses, we have decided to make it easier for you to
find us and tell others how to get here. We are no longer known as a user id at the end of
our web hosts domain (ie. http://users.zerolevity.com/stlouis/),
but as STLCity.com. Simple enough?!? Great!
October 24, 2001 :: Moving forward and positioning ourselves to grow even bigger than before.
After three great years with Cybercon, we had decided to move to a new web host and chose ZeroLevity.
Cybercon's main focus had been increasingly becoming complex server hosting for enterprises, and not on
single web sites. We never had any downtime or problems with their service or support and do recognize
that Cybercon has a superior network Infrastructure, so we sought to find a St. Louis hosting company who
used Cybercon for their server hosting. ZeroLevity was that company. Same excellent connection to the
Internet that we have become accustom to.
1998 :: Finding a new home for a growing collection of St. Louis web site links.
After going through several different ISP's that offered free web space to their dial-up users
(AOL, PostNet, etc.), we found a new home, Cybercon. Back in 1998, Cybercon had only been around
for a few years. In fact, they began hosting web sites about the same time I started collecting
St. Louis links.
1995 :: St. Louis web site portal was created and links collected to be posted on the Internet
This site began a long time ago as a portal for friends and family. Favorite links were collected
and placed online in a very simple, text only format. Back then, Windows 95 was the newest Microsoft
operating system and a 1GB harddisk drive with a 75MHz Intel Processor was top of the line.
